science 2.0

It was bound to happen - suddenly the world of research is looking at how they can make use of web 2.0 to work more efficiently together. The article science 2.0 covers things like blogging, open wikis and all sorts of ways in which simple communication tools can work in academia. MIT has its own open wiki which is a growing database of best practice and protocols, particularly around biological sciences.

I think that it may be a while before scientists truly grasp this form of open-source science, but the world will be a wonderful place if they do.
